| Camp Description
|
Students wash, identify, and catalog real artifacts,
including pottery, stone, and animal bone. Archaeological excavation in the
field at our current research site is a highlight of the program, as is a guided
tour of nearby Mesa Verde National Park, a World Heritage site. Crow Canyon’s
Pithouse and Pueblo Learning Centers, replicas of early Pueblo Indian dwellings,
serve as unique and inspiring classrooms. Students learn about Indian
lifestyles: throwing a spear with an atlatl, weaving on a loom, making fire with
a bow and spindle stick, and playing traditional Indian games in Crow Canyon’s
beautiful meadow in the mountains. Program activities vary depending on age of
student and program selected.Middle School
