The Academy by the Sea/Camp Pacific is located on a sixteen-acre, oceanfront campus in beautiful Carlsbad, California. Campus facilities include beach access, a library, swimming pool, gymnasium, weight room, tennis courts, athletic fields, campus store, chapel and an oceanfront recreation center. We offer a wide variety of summer programs designed especially for students ages 8-17, including our four-week academic camp, three-week recreational camp, surf/bodyboard camp, and leadership camp. All camps are residential.

 •Academic Program- The Academy’s four-week summer session is a co-educational program that balances academics and recreation for a fulfilling experience. Designed especially for students entering grades 4-12, the academic program helps prepare students for their upcoming school year and for college. In order to provide each student with a personalized arena in which to explore his or her potential, we keep our class sizes small at an average teacher/student ratio of 1:10. This allows our supportive faculty to assist and enrich students with daily monitoring of academic performance and individualized attention. We offer courses for credit, enrichment, and ESL. Students attending the academic session share a common desire to improve study skills, strengthen educational background and to have fun. Afternoon activities, special events and weekend excursions allow each student the opportunity to take a break from scholastic responsibilities and create everlasting memories an!

 •Surf & Bodyboard Camp- All skill levels are welcome at our beachfront camps. Campers are taught skills in equipment and wave selection and basic surf techniques by experienced instructors. Group beach instruction, classroom instruction, independent practice, and field trips all combine for an unforgettable week!

 •Recreational Camp (surfing optional) - Throughout our three-week recreational and sports based session, our goal is to have fun, learn new athletic and recreational skills, develop strong friendships, and build self esteem through positive interactions, arts & crafts, sports and field trips.

 •One-week Leadership and Community Service Camp- This program will help campers learn and demonstrate leadership skills and provide an opportunity to give back to the community. During this week, students will participate in team building activities, and volunteer at a Habitat for Humanity restoration site.  Many teen leaders have used their experiences in these service based programs to enhance their college applications or even to help fulfill high school community service requirements.
